3 sweet treats to make with Cheerful Buddha CBD coffee

A great cup of coffee is always a joy – but add a bit of sweetness and you’ve got the perfect indulgence. Here are three simple recipes for a relaxing CBD treat.

We love relaxing with a cup of our single origin CBD infused coffee. It’s great for starting the day, ending the day and everything in between. While it’s gorgeous simply served black with no bells and whistles, it also works a treat when teamed with syrup, ice cream or condensed milk. Next time you need a novel way to enjoy your daily dose of CBD, try one of these:

Shaken iced espresso latte

Originally an Italian invention known as a “shakerato”, this drink is essentially an espresso shaken up with ice and sugar syrup to make a frothy, velvety cooler. Here we’ve spiced the syrup with a pinch of cinnamon and added a touch of vanilla. Top it up with your choice of milk – vegan or dairy.

Ingredients

5 tbsp light brown sugar

A pinch of cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

5 tbsp water

A small pinch of salt

1 double espresso

Ice

Milk of your choice

Method

  1. Put the sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, water and salt in a pan and simmer for about 5 minutes until it’s syrupy.
  2. Pour the syrup into a cocktail shaker with the espresso and a small handful of ice. Shake for about a minute.
  3. Divide the iced coffee mic between 2 glasses, add a little ice and top up with milk.

Café Bombon

Born in Valencia in Spain, this delectable, sweet drink has made its way all over the world – you’ll find variations of it across Asia. A classic café bombon is made with equal parts espresso and condensed milk – use a glass for greater visual impact and gently pour in the condensed milk so it forms a creamy layer at the bottom of the glass. Stir it up before drinking.

Ingredients

1 shot of espresso

An equal quantity of condensed milk

Method

  1. Pour the espresso into a small glass.
  2. Slowly pour in an equal quantity of condensed milk so that it forms a laeyr at the bottom.
  3. When ready to drink it, stir it so that the condensed milk and espresso combine.

Café affogato

Strictly speaking, this is a dessert, not a drink – and it makes the perfect way to end a meal. Originating from Italy, it’s made by pouring hot espresso onto vanilla ice cream. It’s called an “affogato” – meaning “drowned” - because you’re drowning the ice cream with the coffee. Not a bad way to go.

Ingredients

1 shot of espresso

3-4 scoops of vanilla ice cream.

Method

  1. Put the ice cream into a bowl.
  2. Pour over piping hot espresso.
  3. Enjoy!
